Chaos Utter Chaos in the BCS

All Texas Tech had to do was defeat Oklahoma last night. This would have kept the Red Raiders undefeated and send them on their way to the Big 12 title game. Unfortunately for the BCS and its supporters this did not happen. Instead the Oklahoma Sooners absolutely destroyed Texas Tech 65-21. Sam Bradford put himself #1 in the Heisman race after he lead the OU offense to an incredible 65 points. Oklahoma is the #1 offense in the country for a reason, but their defense completely shutdown Graham Harrell, Michael Crabtree, and the explosive T! exas Tech offense. Oklahoma quietly has the #1 defense in the Big 12 and proved it last night. To me Oklahoma has to be in the national title game assuming they defeat Oklahoma State next week. The Red Raiders national title hopes are likely gone after this horrific loss.
Chaos now will follow this OU victory. Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech are now all 10-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big 12. The head-to-head tiebreaker cancels out because UT beat OU, TTU beat UT, and now OU beat TTU. One of these teams must be chosen to play Missouri in the Big 12 title game where the winner will likely play in the BCS Championship. Like I said TTU should be done after last night's crushing defeat. This leaves Texas and Oklahoma. Now I know Texas beat Oklahoma head-to-head, but the Sooners after last night's performance proved they deserve to be there.
This is why we need a playoff system. 8 teams, 3 rounds, 1 goal. I have a suggestion for these BCS bums. I know they do not want to abolish the bowl system because they make a killing in sponsorship money. They do not have to lose any of this. Keep all the bowls, including the four big ones. Make the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, and Orange the first round bowls. Then add two BCS Semifinal Bowls and then the BCS Championship. It is no different then the current system except you get two extra games. They would make even more money. This needs to happen because this year Alabama, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, USC, and Utah all deserve to play in the BCS Title game. There are going to be a lot of upset coaches, players, and fans when it is a! ll said and done.
