Leyton Hewitt is through to the next round of the French Open when he beat Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. The Austrailian showed no signs of the hip injury he suffered where he missed the entire claycourt season so far. Hewitt will now play American Mardy Fish in the second round.
